Applications employing the established model names (gpt-3.5-turbo, gpt-4, and gpt-4-32k) will seamlessly transition to the updated model versions on June 27th. To aid in the comparison of model performance across different versions, the Evals library caters to both public and private evaluations, illustrating the effect of model alterations on your specific use cases.
Developers requiring additional time for transition can persist in using the older models by designating gpt-3.5-turbo-0301, gpt-4-0314, or gpt-4-32k-0314 in the model parameter of their API request. These older versions will remain accessible until September 13th, 2023 after which requests specifying these model names will be unsuccessful. OpenAI team enthusiastically invites developer input to assist us in facilitating a smooth transition.
Before the established model names are realigned to reflect the most recent version, OpenAI wll send out email notifications to all users of gpt-4 and gpt-3.5-turbo.
